Car Park
Competitors may use the main car park. An overflow car park will be in operation on the 9th hole of the Hillhouse course if required. The Scottish Golf Union and Kilmarnock (Barassie) Golf Club cannot accept any responsibility for damage to cars.

Catering
Coffee, tea and breakfast rolls will be available 30 minutes before the first tee time. Bar snacks and full meals will be available throughout the day until the last game leaves the course and has had reasonable time to order. Last orders for catering will be at 2100. All catering is at competitors own expense.

Clubhouse
The clubhouse will be open at 6.00am each day. Competitors, their families and guests are permitted the use of the clubhouse facilities but the dress regulations apply to all i.e. Casual wear is acceptable but must be smart. The wearing of t-shirts, vests, football and rugby shirts and shorts, track and shell suits, denim jeans and trainers are prohibited.

Golf clubs must not be carried through the clubhouse – the main clubhouse door must be used at all times. No access to the golf course will be granted via the door at the east end of the clubhouse.

MOBILE PHONES ARE PROHIBITED IN THE VICINITY OF THE CLUBHOUSE AND COURSE.

Changing facilities are available in the gents locker rooms. There are no lockers available for competitors use. There are showers available. Players wishing to use the showers are advised that they will need to bring their own towels.

Golf shoes with soft spikes are permitted within the clubhouse subject to the weather conditions.

The Scottish Golf Union and Kilmarnock (Barassie) Golf Club cannot accept any responsibility for any competitor’s property lost, stolen or damaged during the Championship.

Yardage Books and Trollies
Yardage books are available for purchase and caddie cars are available for hire on a first come first serve basis from the professional’s shop. Caddie cars must be returned to the distribution/collection point on completion of use.

Kilmarnock (Barassie) Golf Club are unable to provide caddies for the duration of the championship – competitors are required to make their own caddy arrangements.

Course and Play
Competitors will play one round on Friday 1st June and one round on Saturday 2nd June. The top 40 qualifiers and those tying on 40th place will play two rounds on Sunday 3rd June. The draw for Sunday will be made as soon as possible after close of play on Saturday.
THE WEARING OF JEANS, DENIM TROUSERS, SHORTS, SLEEVELESS OR COLLARLESS SHIRTS, SHELL SUITS AND TRAINING SHOES IS NOT PERMITTED ON COURSE. Shorts are permitted if tailored.

Competitors must report to the championship office at least 30 minutes prior to their starting time. Starting times are shown in the official draw sheet. Each competitor will be issued with a copy of the local rules, pin positions and pace of play guidelines when registering.

COMPETITORS MUST REPORT TO THE OFFICIAL STARTER AT THE FIRST TEE 5 MINUTES BEFORE THEY ARE DUE TO PLAY. Competitors are reminded that under the penalty for a breach of Rule 6-3a, if the player arrives at his starting point, ready to play, within five minutes after his starting time, the penalty for failure to start on time is two strokes at the first hole in stroke play. Otherwise, the penalty for breach of the Rule is disqualification.

Insurance
Your entry fee includes cover in respect of legal liability in the event of them causing injury to another person or damage to a third party property. An excess of £15 will apply.

Practice
Kilmarnock (Barassie) Golf Club have kindly granted courtesy of the course for one practice round on Thursday 31st May, or at an alternative time at the discretion of the club. The practice times on Thursday 31st May will be available between 0800 & 1600 but must be booked in advance by telephoning Kilmarnock (Barassie) Golf Club on 01294 313920, or 01294 311322 professional shop.

Additional practice rounds will be charged at the green fee rate of £50.00.

General Practice Conditions for Thursday 31st May:
Competitors must report to the professional shop prior to starting their practice round.

Competitors may play from the championship (blue) tees.

Other than in accordance with the Rules of Golf, a competitor in a practice round must not have more than one ball in play - exception - if a player misses the green with his shot to the green he may play one additional shot.

Practice Facilities
A full practice ground is available and will be in operation on the first hole of the Hillhouse course.

Practice balls will be available free of charge.

PRACTICE BALLS MUST NOT BE REMOVED FROM THE RANGE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. ANY PLAYER FOUND GUILTY OF THIS ACTION WILL BE LIABLE TO DISCIPLINARY ACTION BY THE CHAMPIONSHIP COMMITTEE.

Practice Ground opening and closing times are as follows:

There is a short game area and practice putting green available in front of the clubhouse. Chipping is prohibited onto the practice putting green.

Presentation
The championship trophy and medals will be presented at the close of play on Sunday 3rd June. All medal winners are expected to be present. Prizes will be as follows:

Scottish Amateur Stroke Play Champion: Trophy plus gold medal
Runner up: silver medal
3rd Place and ties: bronze medals

Rankings
The Scottish Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship is an R&A World Amateur Golf Ranking event and for Scottish players counts toward the SGU Order of Merit.
